This patient pursued facial reconstructive surgery of a facial and lower eyelid defect in Charlotte after a Mohs surgeon removed a basal cell carcinoma (BCC) of the skin.  Her primary concern after removing the cancer was to have the site reconstructed with with precision and the most optimal cosmetic outcome.  

During the procedure, her care team explained each step and addressed her questions. 

Her defect was reconstructed with a local flap of the cheek and lower eyelid to give the most natural and cosmetically pleasing result possible given the delicate nature of the tissues around the eye. 

Post-surgery, the patient followed wound care instructions and attended follow-up visits. Over time, healing progressed with minimal discomfort, and the area healed beautifully with barely perceptible scars. The outcome aligned with her goals, allowing her to return to normal routines with renewed peace of mind.
