Skin Cancer Reconstruction after Mohs Surgery Before & After Case 118

This patient underwent reconstruction of a left nostril defect after removal of a skin cancer by a Mohs surgeon. The patient's primary motivation was the reconstruction of the resulting defect after the Mohs surgeon had removed all of the skin cancer, while preserving as much healthy tissue as possible. The patient also expressed concerns about minimizing visible scarring for both medical and personal reasons.

After removal of the skin cancer by a Mohs surgeon, the patient sought out Facial Reconstructive Surgery in Charlotte.  A melolabial flap was used to reconstruct the Mohs surgery defect.  

This patient healed with minimal scarring and regained confidence as their skin recovered. The care team monitored progress and offered guidance throughout the healing process.
