Mohs & Skin Cancer Surgery Before & After Case 20
*Keep in mind that each patient is unique and your results may vary.
Before & After
Case Details
In the before photo, this patient presents with a visible lesion on the forehead, showing characteristics consistent with a skin cancer excision site alongside a smaller adjacent lesion below it. The after photo shows the forehead with markedly less visible disruption to the skin surface, and the overall facial appearance is notably more even in tone and texture across the treated area.
Mohs & skin cancer surgery in Charlotte is one of the most common questions patients bring to a facial plastic surgery practice, and the photos here illustrate what the procedure addresses: the surgical removal of a skin lesion on the face, with attention to preserving as much surrounding tissue as possible while excising the affected site.
Mohs surgery is a staged technique in which tissue is removed and examined in layers until clear margins are confirmed. For lesions on the face, this approach is commonly selected because facial anatomy places a premium on tissue conservation. The reconstruction that follows excision is as important as the removal itself, and the after photo reflects what that process can achieve on the forehead.
Joshua Surowitz MD & Andrea Garcia MD performed the procedure at Dilworth Facial Plastic Surgery. The result shown here includes a noticeably smoother forehead contour compared to the pre-operative image, with the treated site showing considerably less surface disruption than the open excision wound visible before.
