From frown lines to crow’s feet, many of the most common signs of facial aging are smoothed away with just a few quick BOTOX injections. People from Lake Wylie communities like Tega Cay and India Hook; Belmont; Indian Trail; and Lake Norman area such as Cornelius, Huntersville, and Davidson trust Dilworth Facial Plastic Surgery for BOTOX and Dysport in Charlotte, NC. They know they can rely on our experienced team to create subtle, natural-looking results.
BOTOX is a minimally invasive injectable treatment used to minimize fine lines and wrinkles. The active ingredient in BOTOX (and Dysport) is a safe, purified form of botulinum toxin that blocks the chemical signals that trigger muscle contractions. After a BOTOX or Dysport injection, the facial muscles relax, and lines and wrinkles soften or even disappear.
BOTOX treats many different “dynamic” lines and wrinkles caused by repeated facial movements. A few of the most popular treatment areas include:
The treatment can also be used as a complement to surgical procedures, such as a brow lift, eyelid lift, or facelift at our Charlotte facial plastic surgery practice.
Most people choose BOTOX treatments because they are looking for an effective way to rejuvenate their face without surgery. People of many different ages love the convenience of the treatment, which can often be completed in under 30 minutes and requires no downtime. Our Charlotte BOTOX patients typically feel more youthful, vibrant, and confident after BOTOX treatment at our office.
The cost of a BOTOX treatment at our Charlotte practice depends on the cosmetic goals of each patient, including the number of treatment areas. BOTOX is priced per unit, which means the total cost of your treatment is determined by how many units are needed to achieve your goals.

She administers injectables and skincare treatments with expertise to get you looking and feeling your best without ever appearing unnatural or overdone.
Meet Catherine Gillon, RNLike BOTOX, Dysport is a type of injectable neurotoxin that blocks chemical signals that trigger muscle contractions. This softens wrinkles by eliminating the tension on the overlying skin.
Dysport is set apart from other injectables for a couple of reasons: Results tend to appear sooner, and it tends to slightly diffuse into nearby tissue, making it well-suited for treating areas where wrinkles are more spread out. Your injector will help you determine which product is best for your unique needs.
BOTOX and dermal fillers such as JUVÉDERM® both treat wrinkles and signs of aging, but they do so in different ways. Dermal fillers add volume beneath the skin to fill in deeper folds and lines, such as nasolabial folds, smile lines, and lip lines. Many people have both BOTOX and fillers injected during a liquid facelift procedure to address both dynamic wrinkles and volume loss simultaneously.
The best candidates for BOTOX are healthy individuals unhappy with the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles caused by repetitive facial muscle movements. Prospective patients should have realistic expectations for the treatment and understand its limitations.
People with a skin infection at the treatment site, allergies to BOTOX ingredients, or those with muscle or nerve conditions should not get BOTOX treatments. Women who are pregnant or nursing are also ineligible for the treatment.

BOTOX treatments are typically quick and easy, with the entire process only taking a few minutes. After discussing your goals and cleansing your injection sites, your injector will administer a short series of injections into the muscles responsible for your wrinkles. Most people say these feel like tiny pinches that only last a second.
You can return to most of your usual activities directly after your BOTOX appointment. You’ll need to avoid intense exercise or laying down for the next few hours, as this may cause the product to migrate. Mild redness typically disappears in less than an hour.
Results last about 3 to 4 months as normal muscle action eventually returns. Many people choose to continue receiving treatments every few months to maintain their results long-term.
Yes, consistent use of BOTOX will immobilize the muscles that cause dynamic wrinkles, ultimately preventing wrinkle formation. Often, these preventative BOTOX or “baby BOTOX” treatments use a smaller-than-usual dose of the neurotoxin.
To prevent BOTOX from migrating out of the treatment area, do not lie down during the 4 hours after your BOTOX injections and refrain from strenuous activities for 12 hours. Do not rub or massage your face, hold off on alcohol, and avoid excessive heat for 24 hours after treatment.
BOTOX is approved by the FDA to treat a wide range of cosmetic and medical concerns besides wrinkles. For example, BOTOX injections can create a slimmer jawline by relaxing the masseter muscle that’s used for chewing food. BOTOX “lip flips” produce the appearance of a fuller upper lip, and injections can also reduce the appearance of a “gummy smile.”
You may have read about “preventative BOTOX,” the idea that BOTOX or Dysport can prevent wrinkles from forming. It’s true that the injections can postpone—if not prevent—the formation of wrinkles. Because BOTOX works by limiting muscle movements that cause “expression lines,” it also prevents these wrinkles from developing.
One of the persistent myths about BOTOX is that your wrinkles immediately return if you stop getting treatments. That’s not true. Wrinkles will gradually develop after stopping treatments, but it will take longer than if you never had BOTOX injections.
The safety records of both BOTOX and fillers such as JUVÉDERM are excellent. BOTOX has been the subject of numerous studies and has proven to be extremely safe when treatments are performed by trained, qualified injectors. The primary ingredient in most fillers are synthetic versions of substances that occur naturally in the body, so the risk of a negative reaction or infection is very low.
